READER MEASUREMENT
What we measure.
When enabled, our first-party analytics records public page loads, approximate active reading time, scroll depth, broad screen-size categories and referral groups such as search or social.
No visitor profiles.
Each page load gets a temporary random receipt. Our analytics does not use tracking cookies, persistent browser storage, raw IP addresses, full referrer URLs, search-query text or cross-page identifiers. Reloading a page counts as another view. These measurements cannot tell us how many distinct people visited.
Your privacy preferences.
The reader collector skips browsers that signal Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. It does not measure private newsroom pages. Analytics records are accessible only to authorized editors. Individual page-load records are scheduled for deletion after 90 days.
Separate systems.
Editor sign-in uses essential authentication sessions. Advertising delivery has its own first-party measurement. Hosting, security and external services may keep operational records independently of this reader collector. This notice describes reader analytics, not every service provider's data handling.
